It was an ambition of Steven's to write a series of Children's fairytales about Oswald the well known Anglo Saxon King and tell those stories in a way which storytelling used to be told all those years ago when stories were told regardless of the age of the listener and illustrated with  children’s drawings. Based on historical fact the stories are designed to capture the imagination of young readers and inspire their interest in local history through storytelling and colouring books. The colouring books come with a box of chalks allowing the children to have fun while learning, copying the storybook themselves and following the story as they go.

The music written by Steven in the old Celtic style adds realism to the books. If played in the background whilst the story is told helps children experience what life was like in Anglo Saxon England You can listen to brief clips of Celtic and dance music by clicking on the play icon and so try before you buy.

The impressive photographic prints of modern day Northumbria bring the stories he tells to life as they are actual locations in the book and are true historical landmarks in Northumbria today. In this way he mixes fact and fiction in a truly imaginative way.
